Sri Chinmoy....
In the West:
Sri Chinmoy was a simple God-loving man. He believed in the inherent goodness of all human beings and dedicated his life to fostering this goodness in the pursuit of global harmony. He believed that if we can bring forward our best and highest qualities, these shall bring us harmony, contentment, happiness, and ultimately self realisation. When free of fear, doubt, jealousy, frustration, insecurity and ego individuals shall be open-hearted in their service, concern and welfare to others.

Sri Chinmoy lived in New York for the majority of his adult life, moving there from the ashram in 1964. However he rarely spent extended periods there, his travel itinerary was exhaustive. Slowing down was never a term familiar to Sri Chinmoy, his life was one of constant activity, the embodiment of self-transcendence itself.
He believed that our constant progress through prayer and meditation, physical pursuits and dedicated service would expedite our union with God, and the resulting contentment and oneness that we felt would create unity between individuals and ultimately, humanity. This philosophy Sri Chinmoy manifested through a diverse range of global initiatives that have enriched and inspired the lives of millions of people.
God wants me to do
Only my very best.
The rest He is more than willing to do
For me.
