A beacon of Light
Our earth-planet is blessed by the presence and wisdom of the great spiritual Masters who realised the ultimate Truth. Sri Chinmoy's path is the embodiment of their timeless teachings combined with service, hope, encouragement and dynamism.
Born in 1931, Sri Chinmoy Kumar Ghose is one of India’s great yogis.
As early as six-years of age, the young Chinmoy had many profound spiritual
experiences. Then at twelve-years of
age after the death of his parents, he continued his life of devoted spiritual practices when he
entered with his brothers and sisters, the Sri
Aurobindo ashram in Pondicherry southern India.

Following an inner call in 1964 Sri Chinmoy left the ashram and travelled to the West, where he has for over forty two years, tirelessly dedicated his life to serving humanity’s spiritual awakening. He offers an entire way of life that encompasses meditation, creativity, physical well-being and service to humanity. Acclaimed as one of the most inspirational spiritual leaders in the world today, Sri Chinmoy strives to fulfil mankind’s dream of a united and harmonious world.
For
this to become a reality Sri Chinmoy teaches that the inner life of
prayer and meditation and the outer life of self-transcendence and
dedicated service should go together. Through the transforming nature of
these virtues Sri Chinmoy believes the unlimited potential of the human
spirit can be realised. Here striving individuals can gain the highest
levels of spiritual realisation, physical ability and personal
achievement. Then Sri Chinmoy says, “individuals will develop a heart
inundated with compassion, with an inseparable oneness for the rest of
the world.” The goal of harmony shall then expand in ever-widening
circles from individual to individual, from nation to nation.

The dynamic concept of striving to reach one’s potential through self-transcendence is seen in Sri Chinmoy’s own extraordinary life. Sri Chinmoy humbly adds to his list of achievements - to date he has produced thousands of abstract paintings, penned millions of soul-bird drawings, written over a 1,500 books, written tens of thousands of poems, composed over 19,000 songs, offered over 700 free musical concerts, given hundreds of spiritual lectures and maintains his record-breaking weightlifting feats. This growing list is offered to inspire and to show that age is no barrier. As Sri Chinmoy says, “that when we are propelled by the power of inner faith we can do the impossible.”
In fostering world harmony through dedicated service, Sri Chinmoy has initiated a number of global events: The Sri Chinmoy World Harmony Run - a yearly global torch relay that links hundreds of thousands of participants in over 100 countries around the world. The Sri Chinmoy Marathon Team promotes friendship and goodwill internationally through hundreds of sporting events. The Sri Chinmoy Oneness-Heart-Tears and Smiles Humanitarian aid program continues to provide $millions of donated emergency medical aid and supplies to underprivileged nations and displaced peoples around the world.

In his continued meetings with world, spiritual and religious leaders and inspired individuals Sri Chinmoy the spiritual Master, conveys with renewed energy, hope and wisdom his vision for the harmonious coexistence of humanity. Sri Chinmoy says, “the world is indeed one family, with different names and faces, but all children of God.” Sri Chinmoy sees a world free of greed and violence, a world of respect and trust and continues by saying, “we belong to a universal world-family, a world of oneness and united hearts.”
To countless people around the globe Sri Chinmoy is a tireless source of inspiration as a highly respected spiritual leader. As meditation teacher and spiritual Master, Sri Chinmoy is affectionately known as ‘Guru’ to the many thousands of his students in over 350 meditation centres in 60 countries.

Sri Chinmoy writes with freshness, power and brevity and shares with the reader his most intimate and sacred awareness of God, speaking of God as The Supreme, Absolute and Lord. His messages are clear and offered with love and concern, lifting us to higher plains of resolve and awareness.
To preserve our world from the internal and external dangers that
increasingly threaten it, no longer can we look to, or expect others
to bring about world harmony. If this long sought-after goal is to
become a reality, sincere individuals need to start searching for the
higher and deeper
meaning to life. To look beyond the limited reality of the physical
mind and ego centred self, to become an awakened soul.
So where do we start? - I believe the answers lie in the timeless
wisdom of the great spiritual Masters. Each has realised the ultimate
Truth, and like Sri Chinmoy their writings and teachings offer inspired individuals a pathway of the highest realisations and clarity to this Truth.
Now
is the time to search for and follow the teachings of your pathway of
Truth. Its rewards shall be unprecedented levels of fulfilment,
happiness,
self-giving and oneness in service to our world-family. Never
before in the history of our earth-planet, has our
world needed more, the collective aspiration and love of its harmony
seeking citizens.
Quote from Mother Teresa -
"If we have no peace, it is because we have forgotten that we belong to each other."
