Service to Humanity
Sri Chinmoy's service-life began in the West in 1964 when he set foot on
U.S. soil for the first time. He brought with him his love of God and
his vision for the oneness of humanity.
Over
the years Sri Chinmoy's
oneness-vision has touched the lives of countless individuals as
he continues to show inspired individuals that they are more
than just the physical body and mind. He teaches that each of us has
the spiritual capacity to reach our true potential and realise our
oneness with the highest transcendental Consciousness.
Sri
Chinmoy's life has been one of constant growth, he has never been one to sit back and rest
on his achievements. He often mentions that he is guided inwardly to
pursue a life of self-transcendence, to go beyond any previous achievement and grow
into his own full potential.
Along
the way his capacity to constantly set
new goals and achieve them has astounded and inspired people around the
world.
However, Sri Chinmoy has never sought acclaim, he simple
follows an inner call to inspire, to show just what is possible. He
offers hope and shows
that we should not feel that our lives are static, that we also have
the
capacity to go beyond our limitations, to achieve goodness in our lives
- goodness through self-transcendence, dedicated service and by leading
a spiritual life.
For his
students
and those inspired by him Sri Chinmoy's encouragement, concern
and compassion has seen personal growth in many
areas. They include - accomplished musicians, fine athletes,
writers, educators, Guinness book
record holders, humanitarians, restaurant
workers, mountaineers.... in fact there is no field of personal
endeavour where
Sri Chinmoy's admirers, both men and woman have not witnessed growth
and felt real satisfaction through transcendence and their
achievements.
Through
these achievements individuals access a deeper part of themselves through prayer, meditation and dedicated-service. This
brings deeper spiritual awareness, joy, dynamism,
humility and oneness.
Sri Chinmoy is internationally recognised as a dynamic advocate for global harmony, a renowned spiritual leader and visionary, whose wisdom and inspiration is sought by governments, religious leaders, community organisations and private citizens. He is tireless in his self-offering, in fact the older he gets the more he does and achieves.
His love and concern for humanity is not restricted to seekers of one particular faith. Sri Chinmoy makes
no distinctions, we are all children of God. Now at 76 years of age, he shows no signs of slowing
down. Sri Chinmoy's dynamic energy comes
from a source higher than the physical body, a spiritual force that flows
freely through this God-lover. Like the great spiritual Masters
who
have travelled before him, Sri Chinmoy seeks no personal gain. He
humbly serves sincere seekers
around the globe as they strive for happiness, contentment and
realisation through their aspirations to become better citizens of the
world.
