1. World's Greatest Athlete - Carl Lewis, US. Friend and supporter of Sri Chinmoy.
Carl is a spokesperson for Sri Chinmoy's World Harmony Run. As an Olympic champion Carl won 10 medals - 9 gold and 1 silver at Olympic Games track and field competitions.
Prior
to the '96 Olympic trials, said Carl Lewis in an interview with
the Houston Chronicle, his "friend Sri Chinmoy called from New York to
wish [Lewis] well." "find your own time to be quiet," Chinmoy advised
Lewis. "there will be so many people talking around you and about you.
you must not," admonished Chinmoy, "allow others to drain your energy
heart." - (Carl went on to win Gold in the Olympic Long Jump).

Ashrita Furman - World Guinness Book record holder. Ashrita has set
120 records, completed on 7 continents, he is currently the holder of
the most current records - 40 in total, (June 2006, Ashrita has just
set three new guiness records in 1 hour to honor Sri Chinmoy's upcoming
75th birthday - see these on Sri Chinmoy TV).

4. World Record Holder - Dipali Cunningham - US. Student of Sri Chinmoy's
Ultra Distance Runner - Dipali has just won another of her favourites events, the Six-Day Ultra.
She ran 458 miles in 6-days.
5. Ultra - Long Distance World Champion - Suprabha Beckjord, US - Student of Sri Chinmoy's
Suprabha is the most prolific ultra - long distance runner in the world. Check out the number of 3,100 mile runs in consecutive years she has completed - ten!!! Also a look at the other runners in 2005, 3,100 miler. More on her running career -
Suprabha is one of the most prolific super-long distance runners in the world. She is the only eight-time finisher in the Self-Transcendence 3100 Mile Race, and still the only female competitor. Her best is 49 days, 14 hours for 3100 miles, ranking her eighth alltime. In the decade of the nineties, she compiled 20,108 multiday racing miles in 14 multiday events. She is the American women’s record holder for 700, 1000 and 1300 miles. She is only one of three people ever to finish the 1300 mile race three times or more. She was first woman in the 1996 Sri Chinmoy 2700 Mile Race, third overall out of six people,establishing new records beyond 1300 miles up to 2700 miles. Suprabha won the Sri Chinmoy Seven-Day race five times earlier in her career, and has held the women’s world record for 1000 miles as well. She has a six-day best of 459 miles, sixth ranking all-time for women. She owns a gift shop in Washington,DC., and has been a member of the Sri Chinmoy Marathon Team for many years.

7. Ultra - Marathon Runner - Rathin Boulton from Canberra, Australia - Student of Sri Chinmoy's
Rathin burst onto the ultra - marathon scene in a big way in 2003 when he
ran his first 3,100 mile race. Prior to that he had only run two 24
hour races. Since then he has run two more 3,100 mile races in 2004 and 2005 and in the

8. Ultra - distance swimmer - Karteek Clarke from Edinburgh, Scotland - Student of Sri Chinmoy's.
Karteek has swum the English Channel not once, but eight times! He
also plays the classical violin, speaks French, Italian and Russian, has a wicked sense of humour and is a

9. All round athlete - Anugata Bach from New York - Student of Sri Chinmoy's
Anugata has swum the English Channel, climbed many of the worlds highest peaks
in the Himalayas and Peru and completed the des Sables, the multi-day race aross the Sahara Desert. Plus he and
two climbing partners were recently swept away in an avalanche at the
base of Mt. Everest, and survived!
10. Talented musician - Premik Russell Tubbs, New York - Student of Sri Chinmoy's.

11. Champion Bodybuilder - Bill Pearl. US. Close friend of Sri Chinmoy's.
Bill won 4 - Mr Olympia and 2 - Mr Universe titles and was also a champion wrestler.
12. Asprihanal Aalto, 34, Helsinki, Finland. Student of Sri Chinmoy's.
One of the best
endurance runners in the world, Asprihanal is ranked second
alltime for 3100 miles (46 days 6 hours), has won the 700 mile race
three times with a best of 9 days five hours, and has won the 3100 race
three times(2000, 2001, 2004). Last year he dominated the race from
start to finish. For three straight years he ran all three yearly
Self-Transcendence multidays in New York(six days, 3100 miles, 700
miles)- a feat unprecedented in multiday annals. Asprihanal has
emerged victorious in the Six Day Race two times, winning each race
with supreme efforts on the last day. He is a three time winner
of the 700 mile race, with the fastest winners’ time in the 17 races (9
days five hours) He has also hiked the Appalachian Trail (2,160 miles) and the Pacific
Crest Trail (2,650 miles) in solo fashion, covering 60 km per day for up to twelve
weeks. Asprihanal works as a courier and delivery man back in
Helsinki, Finland.
13. Richard Pettinger - Cyclist, Bristol UK. Student of Sri Chinmoy's.
Richard is a national time trial (TT) and hill climb champion. View
