Peace poems by Sri Chinmoy

From Sri Chinmoy Library: How can we have a peaceful world?

The power
Of a peace-dream
Can radically transform
The face of reality.

Peace
Is found only
In the whisper-inspiration
And whisper-encouragement
Of the soul inside the heart.

Your task is not
To forsee;
Your task is to see within
And discover
Your life's journey goal:
The attainment of infinite peace.

Have faith in your peace.
Lovingly and compassionately
Your peace will help you
Through all the unfamiliar, unlit
And dangerous streets of life.

A man of peace
Is a spontaneous
Silence-love-fountain.

The fulfilment of peace
Is not an invention
But a discovery,
Along the way to
Self-discovery.

Each human being
Should long for the time
When he will be flooded
With peace-prosperity.

Each seeker
Must have silence-peace
Before he can enter
Into the palace of truth.

If we have peace inside our hearts,
Then there will be nobody
Whom we shall not love.

Peace means joy;
Joy means peace.
Peace and joy can never
Be separated.

The inner peace
Can be found
Far beyond
The confines of space.

Where else is peace,
If not in the poise
Of your mind.

Have little
Need less:
This is the way
To inner peace.

Power is meant
For greatness.
Peace is meant
For goodness.

Unless you practice
How to wait.
You can never have
Peace of mind.

How can you have
A wisdom-mind
If you do not have
A peace-heart?

Without peace,
The heart is fruitless.
Without the heart,
Peace is homeless.

Peace of mind
Cannot be obtained overnight.
To achieve peace of mind
We have to invest many
Silence-years in
Spirituality.

We can change the world,
But not improve it,
If we do not have peace.

Humanity needs peace.
But where is peace?
It is in love.
Where is love?
It is in life-acceptance
And self-transcendence.

Peace is not found
In outer efficiency.
Peace is found
In self-mastery.

How to dissolve yesterday's anger?
Just inundate it with today's
Peace of mind.

The real in me
Longs for peace.
The unreal in me
Longs for power.

Peace becomes a reality
Only after endless
Patience-preparation.

Life's battlefield
Will become peaceful
When the sound of the mind
Gives way
To the silence of the heart.

Slowly and steadily
You have to silence your mind,
So that the peace-dove
Can nest in it.

In the morning
I discover the beauty of peace,
In the evening
I discover the peace of beauty.

He became what he saw
In his deepest meditation:
A sea of peace,
A sky of light
And a mountain of delight.

When you soulfully meditate,
The first thing you get
Is inner peace,
And this peace
Marks the beginning
Of your heart's journey
Along the path of perfection.

When the age of reason ends
The heart of peace
Will inundate the entire world.

A moment's peace
Can and shall
Make the world beautiful.

Peace you want in your heart?
Then pray for silence in your mind.

Obey the small whispers of peace
In your inner life.
You are bound to be happy.

If you have courage,
You will succeed.
If you have joy,
You will proceed.
If you have peace,
You will become.

Lasting peace must begin
Within the depths of the individual
And from there spread
In ever-widening circles
As a dynamic force for world
Change.

Peace does not depend upon
My body's beauty.
Peace does not depend upon
My mind's brilliance.
Peace depends upon
My heart's fragrance.

If you do not find peace
Inside your own heart,
Then you will not find it
Anywhere else on earth.

Peace does not mean only silence.
Peace is also something
Soothing, thrilling, enchanting,
Illumining and fulfilling.

Why are you moving
From one country to another
To find peace?
The sea of peace is just inside
Your mind's silence-sky.

A peace-blossoming heart
Is the beginning of perfection
In human nature.

How can we have peace?
Not by talking about peace,
But by walking
Along the road of peace.

No thirst for gain,
No fear of loss-
Lo, peace is yours.

When one acquires peace of mind,
Automatically one possesses
Indomitable inner strength.

A life of beauty
A life of peace.

Life's battlefield
Will be all peace
When the sound of the mind
Gives way
To the silence of the heart.

When the mind has peace,
Then there is always harmony in all
The activities
Which take place in one's being.

We can have peace
Not by possessing the world
Or leading the world,
But by becoming a lover
Of the world.

Peace is not found in external
Knowledge.
Peace is not to be found in outer
Efficiency.
Peace is found in self-mastery.

If we cannot silence
Our own mind,
Then peace will never be
Within our reach.

If we are not at peace
With ourselves,
How can we ever imagine
Offering peace to the world.

It is only through
Inner peace
That we can have true
Outer freedom.

Man's soulful smile
Is indeed a perfect expression
Of his inner peace.

Unhorizoned is our inner peace,
Like the boundless sky,
It encompasses all.

If you remain calm and quiet
And allow the divine thoughts
Of your spiritual guide
To enter into you,
You will become flooded with peace.

The inner experience of peace
Is man's supreme necessity.
The inner experience of peace
Is man's transcendental beauty.
The inner experience of peace
Is man's absolute reality.

Peace that comes
From inner awakening
Is the peace everlasting.

The more we see
The divine in others,
The sooner we will
Establish
World peace.

The heart's purity and beauty
Tell us that peace
Is deep within.

Peace
Is in inner awakening,
And this inner awakening
We must share
With the rest of the world.

A world of peace
Will be the supreme achievement
Of humanity.

A smiling self-giving life
Is
The birthplace of peace.

If we can peacefully live
In our inner self,
Then we can proudly live
With our outer self.
