My Morning Begins

My Morning Begins

This is the 1,120th book that Sri Chinmoy has written. The cover artwork was drawn by the author at 15 years of age. The 365 prayers and meditations within this book bring the realisations of the purity and stillness of God's meditative morning-silence into the aspiring-heart of the seeker.

My morning begins
With my soul's self-giving smiles.

My morning begins
With my heart's Heaven-climbing cries.

My morning begins
With a rainbow-dancing delight.

My morning begins
With the vision
Of my rose-heart-garden.

My morning begins
With a prayerful and soulful
God-gratitude-silence-moment.

My morning begins
With the hope of enjoying
The exquisite beauty of God the creation.

My morning begins
By uniting Heaven's cheerful soul
And earth's tearful heart.

My morning begins
By looking far beyond
Tomorrow's golden dawn.

My morning begins
Not with my mind's
Success-pleasure,
But with my heart's
Progress-measure.

My morning begins
With the exquisite fragrance
Of my soul's delight.

My morning begins
With my heart's
Secret and sacred thirst
For God's Compassion-Eye.

My morning begins
By challenging, defying and defeating
My mind's doubt-invasion.

My morning begins,
And with my human eyes I see the sunlight
Covering a limited distance.
And what do I see with my inner eye?
With my inner eye I see the God-Light
Covering the length and breadth
Of the entire world.

My morning begins
With a pilgrim-heart-journey
Towards the Unknowable.

My morning begins,
And God tells me
That the breath of bliss
Is not far beyond.
It is within easy reach
Of my heart's breathless cries.

My morning begins,
And lo and behold,
I receive a most precious Gift
From my Lord Supreme:
Silence-Delight.

My morning begins,
And God openly expressed His Fondness
For each fragrance-breath
Of my heart.

My morning begins,
And I clearly see
That my mind's inspiration,
My heart's aspiration
And my life's dedication
Will definitely succeed.

My morning begins,
And I ask my Lord Supreme
What he wants from me.
He smilingly says,
"Unconditional surrender."

My morning begins,
And my Lord proudly sees me
Performing readily, willingly and eagerly
My terrestrial tasks.

My morning begins,
And I see the flowering
Of my soul's sacred dreams.

My morning begins
With a surprisingly newborn
Heart-song.

My morning begins,
And I see myself no more entangled
In the desire of yesterday.

My morning begins,
And the first thing God does for me
Is bless me with a cheerful frame of mind.

My morning begins,
And my Lord Supreme blesses me
With the Silence
That explains the inexplicable
And plumbs the unfathomable.

My morning begins,
And God tells me
That I am permitted to speak about peace
Only after I have invoked peace.

My morning begins,
And I tell my hope
That it must not retire;
It must continue to aspire.

My morning begins,
And I give God what I have:
My precious ego,
While God gives me what He is:
His spacious Heart.

My morning begins,
And I closely listen
To the singing heartbeat
Of my life.

My morning begins,
And God comes and tells me
That He wants me to be
His universal peace-partner.

My morning begins,
And my soul secretly teaches me
How to remain untouched
By wordly problems.

My morning begins,
And I see a pendulum swinging
Between my prayer-cries
And my meditation-smiles.

My morning begins,
And my heart affectionately shows me
What it has for me:
A vast sea of self-giving expansion.
