Inspired Reading

Over the years I have been immersed in the absolute delight of reading and categorising many thousands of Sri Chinmoy's inspirational poems and aphorisms. The Poetry section within Sri Chinmoy Books offers the opportunity to share these and the published editions that they were chosen from with our international audience.

I would like to continue this manifestation in a little less organised way with as yet uncategorised aphorisms. Listed within this folder are those aphorisms that at the time of reading lifted my heart, each bringing in their own unique way fresh levels of awareness, joy, wisdom and inspiration. All are selected from Sri Chinmoy's recent editions of Seventy-Seven Thousand Service-Trees - the first selections are from Service-Trees No. 40 - all aphorisms by Sri Chinmoy.

I must and must be worthy
Of my Lord's Confidence
In me.

For God-willingness
And God-eagerness
We must every day pray.

The whispers of the angels
Awakens me
To watch the beauty
Of my Inner Pilot.

God cares infinitely more
For my honest efforts
Than for my actual successes.

The undivine forces
Are terribly afraid of
The supremely happy hearts.

God is all eagerness
To receive my heart
And, at the same time,
To be received by my heart.

God tells me
That my only aim
Is to offer Him and His Creation
All my heart's aspiration
And life's dedication.

All our troubles
Start
In our mind-jungle.

True God-servers feel
That they do not need
Any vacation.

In life,
The heart that sleeps
Is of no avail.

When I am in my heart
I see
The flowers of love.

Happiness knows
No time-limit.

Meditation
Paves the way
To transformation.

If your spirituality
Is genuine,
Then you belong
To the whole world.

Our lives
Are the travellers
On this earth-planet.

Angels visit us
Only when we have
A purity-mind
And
A self-giving heart.

Infinite horizons
Are
Beckoning me.

A oneness-heart
Proudly collects
All the good things
That are available on earth.

A life empty of God-love
Shall be attacked mercilessly
By the undivine forces.

Each divine thought
Has to be transformed
Into an immediate action.

My Lord comes to me
Smiling,
From far beyond
The horizons of my dreams.

My Lord's one Smile
Is enough
To remove all my mind-tensions.

My Lord blesses me,
Loves me and fulfils me,
In spite of all my mistakes
And weaknesses.

We must not delay,
Even for a second,
Embarking on
Our Godward journey.

My soul-blessed heart
Has
Impenetrable poise.

The more you think,
The farther away you are
From Reality.

Your inner light
Will definitely shine forth -
It is only a matter of time.

The world needs you and me
At this very moment -
Not in the near and distant future.

Do not form stupid
And unhealthy opinions
That lower your consciousness.

God listens
Through the heart.

Tenderness, softness, sweetness -
These divine qualities
Definitely strengthen the heart.

A heart of tranquility
Is a source
Of tremendous happiness.

Peacemakers
Are one step ahead
Of present-day humanity.

My soul enters into my mind
And compels it
To look towards the Light.

If I do not discipline
My constantly roaming thoughts,
Who will come to my rescue?

To be in the company
Of a good disciple
Of any Master
Is, indeed, a tremendous help
For any seeker.

Each pilgrim on earth
Must realise
That he is in transit to Heaven.
