A GIFT FROM THE SUPREME

You can maintain your joy permanently when you feel that the joy you have is not yours. It does not come because you have done something for yourself or for God or for humanity. You have to feel that it is an unconditional gift from the Supreme. Then you have to feel that the joy you are experiencing is nothing other than the Supreme.

If you want to be happy,
See yourself always
As a four-year-old child
Playing inside the Heart-Garden
Of your Beloved Supreme.

Unreservedly strengthen the part of you
That wants God's Love
Above everything else,
And soulfully see
The happy result.

~ Sri Chinmoy

LET THY WILL BE DONE

We must try to serve God in every human being. This service of ours has to be unconditional. Then only can we be continuously happy. If we love God, we become happy. If we serve God, we become happier.

There is only one way
In God's entire creation
To be happy,
And that way
Is to make God happy.

If you want to make God happy,
Every day pray and meditate
Lovingly, soulfully and selflessly.

Real joy you get
Not when you have something,
Not even when you become something,
But when you come to learn
That you have the capacity
To please God all the time.

~ Sri Chinmoy

In the ordinary life we are happy only when success dawns. But if we can have the same kind of happiness, joy and satisfaction whether we succeed or fail, and if we can cheerfully offer the result of our actions to God, then only can we know that what we have done is God's Will.

If we want real, abiding happiness, then we shall do the things that we feel are good and right, and the results we offer to the Supreme. Success and failure are two experiences. These two experiences we have to unify, and whichever experience we get at the end of our endeavour, we have to offer to the Supreme with tremendous joy.

You are aspiring to grow.
Indeed, this is a happy experience.
You are searching for truth.
Indeed, this is a happier experience.
You are surrendering your earth-existence
To the life of delight
Indeed, This is the happiest experience.

With beauty, love and delight
I came into the world.
Long forgotten my arrival-hour,
For it was in the hoary past.
Endless am I,
Happily following the course of Eternity.

~ Sri Chinmoy
