Passages from The Divine Hero
A seeker of the infinite Light and the eternal Truth has accepted the spiritual life soulfully abd consciously. A real seeker, a sincere seeker, is a divine hero, one who meditates on God and whose own consciousness gradually develops to such as extent that he feels God's Presence constantly, everywhere.
If we use the mind, we will feel that nothing is as difficult or complicated as spirituality. But if we really want to follow the spiritual life, if we use the heart as our instrument, then nothing can be more simple. When the heart wants to to identify itself with something or someone, it uses the feeling of love and oneness. But when the mind wants to see something, it tries to delay and separate. The mind unconsciously gets pleasure in things that are complicated and confused, but the heart gets joy in things that are simple.
We have to feel that matter and spirit go together. Matter has to be the consciousness expression of spirit. There is an inner reality, there is an infinite Truth that wants to express itself in and through matter. The material life has to be guided and moulded by the spirit.
To follow any spiritual path, you have to have some aspiration. But if you have to wait for this dynamic and spiritual energy, then you will never start your journey. If you really want the spiritual life, start wherever you are. If you have limited energy, if your aspiration is insignificant, go deep within. You will get to the Inner Well, the Source of aspiration.
Why do we worry? We worry because we do not know what is going to happen to us tomorrow, or even in the next minute. We feel that if we do not do something for ourselves, then nobody is going to do it. But if we feel that there is Someone who thinks of us infinitely more than we think of ourselves - our Inner Pilot - and if we can consciously offer our responsibility to Him, then our past, our present and our future become His problem. ~ Sri Chinmoy
