Compassion

Excerpt from Sri Chinmoy's Book - Compassion

Before we enter into the spiritual life, God’s Compassion is something abstract. But when we enter into the spiritual life and live a divine life, God’s Compassion becomes concrete. By feeling unworthy we will not be able to draw God’s Compassion. It is absurd. But if we are humble, if we aspire and feel that the little capacity that we have has come from God, then God will pull us towards Him with His Compassion-magnet. This magnet is stronger than the strongest and sweeter than the sweetest. If we consciously feel this magnet operating in our lives, then each thought we have will be sweet, and everything that is within us and around us will be all perfection.

When God’s Compassion operates in a sincere seeker, he runs towards God. Here on earth we call a particular thing kindness or sympathy, but in the inner world we see that this very thing comes directly from God’s Compassion. So when God’s Compassion reigns supreme in an individual soul, then he is bound to run towards God, the Destined Goal.

God’s Compassion-magnet immediately pulls into itself all the sufferings, weaknesses, wrongdoings and other defects of human beings. It absorbs everything; it takes everything inside itself. Once somebody takes shelter at God’s Compassion feet, no matter how many times that person does something wrong, God is ready to forgive him. ~ Sri Chinmoy
