God-Realisation

Excerpts from Sri Chinmoy's Book - The Wings of Joy
"God-realization means self-discovery in the highest sense of the
term. One consciously realizes his oneness with God. As long as a
seeker remains unrealized, he will feel that God is somebody else who
has infinite Power, while he, the seeker, is the feeblest person on
earth. But the moment he realizes God, he comes to know that he and God
are absolutely one in both the inner and the outer life.
God-realization means one's identification with one's absolute highest
Self.
Each individual has to realize God according to
his inner capacity. And each individual can choose to accept the aspect
of God that pleases him most. Somebody may like God's personal
aspect—God as a most luminous Being—while another person may like the
impersonal aspect—God as infinite Energy. Again, somebody else will be
pleased only if the God he realizes is a God beyond his imagination.
God is both personal and impersonal. God will come to each individual
according to that individual's choice, to please him in his own way.
God
is both masculine and feminine. The term "Father" is more commonly used
for God in the Western world. In the East, we quite often speak of the
Supreme Goddess. But when I am with Westerners, I use the term which is
more familiar to you, because I feel that it will be easier for me to
share my experiences with you in that way.
A true
spiritual seeker will have the deepest respect and utmost reverence for
all religions. We can treasure all religions and claim them as our very
own. Each religion is like a branch of the God-tree. How can we deny
the value of the branches when we accept the tree as our very own? Each
religion is right, absolutely right, in its own way, but when we cry
for the highest Truth, love of God becomes our only religion.
True
spirituality will not demand the renunciation of any religion. If you
remain in your own religion and practice the spiritual life, you will
be able to run very fast toward the goal. Your own religion will give
you constant confidence in what you are doing. Again, you may feel the
need to transcend religion. In either case, your goal is to realize
God, who embodies all religions and, at the same time, is far above
them." ~Sri Chinmoy
Your heart's cry is a real treasure.
Your heart's cry flies like an eagle
To reach the highest goal of your purest soul.
