Becoming a Spiritual Potter

Excerpts from Sri Chinmoy's Book - The Wings of Joy
"If we accept the spiritual life in the true sense of the term, we
do not renounce the world or try to escape from the world. We embrace
the world and try to fulfill the world in a divine way, in the way that
God wants. I do not see eye-to-eye with those who say that God is only
in Heaven and not elsewhere. God is in Heaven, and God is also on
earth. The Creator can never be separated from His creation. This world
of ours is His creation. He is here. He abides within all things.
We
have to accept the world as it is. If we do not accept something, how
are we going to transform it? If the potter does not touch the lump of
day, how is he going to shape it into a pot? If his aim is to make a
pot or pitcher, he has to touch the clay. This clay is the world. We
have to transform the face of the world on the strength of our
dedication to the divinity in humanity.
Do not think
that by praying to God or meditating on God, you are caring only for
yourself and not for the rest of humanity. If you go to the foot of the
creation-tree, you will see that God is the root. If you water the root
of the tree, then the creation-tree will grow the way the divine Law
wants it to. The concern you show for the root of the tree, for God,
will feed all the branches, which will then live according to God's
Perfection." ~Sri Chinmoy
Peace we achieve
When we do not expect anything
From the world,
But only give, give and give
Unconditionally
What we have and what we are.
~Sri Chinmoy
