Life's hope poems

hope prayer

Hope poems by Sri Chinmoy

The majority of these poems have been selected from Sri Chinmoy's poetry series Seventy-Seven Thousand Service-Trees and Twenty-Seven Thousand Aspiration-Plants.

From Sri Chinmoy Library: What can one do if they feel they are loosing hope?

Every day must come to you
As a new hope
A new promise
A new aspiration
A new energy
A new thrill
And a new delight.

Hope comes first:
Life follows.
Life comes first:
Perfection follows.
Perfection comes first:
Satisfaction follows.

With out hope
Life becomes a stagnant pool.

Hope is sweet.
Hope is illumining.
Hope is fulfilling.
Hope can be everlasting.
Therefore, do not give up hope,
Even in the sunset of your life.

If you travel all the time
On the wings of hope,
And not
On the wings of determination,
Your are not going to succeed
In the battlefield of life.

Hope itself is happiness
It needs no outer happiness
To add to its joy.

Make friends with bright hopes
At every moment,
To change your own world
And the world around you.

O my heart's little hope-birds,
Every day you are inundating my life
With your beauty-making powers.

When I walk up
The hill of hope
I see my destination
Is fast approaching me.

No matter what happens,
Do not lose hope,
For once hope is gone,
Everything is gone.

May every day
A new-hope flower blossom
In my heart-garden.

Every day
Our hearts are born
With new hopes.

Alas,
A lonely heart
Longs for hope
That is not yet born.

At the dawn of each day,
Let us make our hopes
And promises
As sincere and powerful
As possible.

If you have
A beautiful hope,
Make it sleepless.
If you have
A powerful promise,
Make it breathless.

When I listen to the voice
Of the rising sun,
The beauty of a new hope
Enters into me.

How beautiful to look at,
When my prayer
Lights a candle of hope
In my heart.

Every morning, when hope arrives,
I feel that I can become
The possessor of a new life.

Because of my unfailing
Rainbow-hope
I shall succeed in my life.

Never allow
Your hope-flowers
To whither.

The beauty
Of our hope-dreams
Can never be fathomed.

He who has hope
Along with determination
Will one day see his life
Fully blossomed.

Even the tiniest of hopes
Can show me the way
To arrive at my goal.

To reach our destination
Every day we must smooth and pave
The inner road
With hopes and promises.

One voice of hope
In my aspiration-heart
Is sufficient for me
To fight against all misfortunes.

Each human being
Either consciously or unconsciously
Is a student of hope.

Each seeker must live
A spotless life of hope.
Then only will he be able to enjoy
His soul's eternal journey.

Remember, an endless future
Is before you,
Not behind you.
Therefore, you can easily make friends
With endless happiness-hopes.

O my heart's little hope-birds,
Every day you are inundating my life with your
Beauty-making powers.

Hope is a future reality,
A hidden reality,
Waiting for its revelation
In the heart of the Eternal now.

How can you breathe
A breath of hope,
When you yourself have tightened
The tangle of perplexities?

My hope-bird soars
Every morning and evening
In my soul's moon-embraced
And sun-blessed sky.

What is faith?
Faith is the unmistakable
Fulfiller of human hopes.

If your old hopes
Have not satisfied you,
Then strive for new hopes,
Illumining and fulfilling hopes,
Which are taking birth everyday
Inside your heart's
Aspiration-garden.

Now that your hopes
Are shooting only upward,
Each day will come to you
With perpetual morning-delight.

His heart of tear-filled years
Is sleepless looking for
Only one thing:
A newborn hope.

The beauty
Of hope's outer life
And the fragrance
Of hope's inner life
Are keeping humanity sane.

If you want hope-seeds
To sprout in your life,
Then transform your heart
Into your soul's purity-nest.

A hopeful life
Knows how to return
Where to return
And
When to return.
