Meditation teachers and their paths, be wary of quick fixes and gimmickry.

There are many teachings and techniques on how to meditate. Each sincere path offers philosophies and practices that suit a dedicated and aspiring seeker in a unique and personal way. The transforming benefits that gradually come to a seeker are those that have been realised by them after many years of patient and dedicated practice. In these times of expectation and quick results I post a warning to those who are genuinely searching for a recognised teacher and meditation path to be wary of gimmicks and quick fixes.

The process of a seeker searching for a spiritual path and a sincere teacher is often one where that seeker is reconnecting with their meditative realisations gained from a previous spiritual practice. Through the natural processes of karma and reincarnation an aspiring seeker has been brought to a point by faith and this lifetimes experiences where their inner cry is re-ignited.

On many occasions seekers find themselves searching for a meditation path, a path found in many instances with the inner guidance being given by their previous teacher. From here the seeker recommences their journey from where he or she left off. The understanding of this belief gives the seeker the assurance that their continued spiritual progress is being divinely guided.

To try and shortcut the natural processes of the aspiring and flowering spiritual heart with gimmickry or quick fixes is denying the natural forces that gradually unfold within the seeker, in a way and time unique to themselves. Your dedicated search is a very personal undertaking, one that should never be rushed. There are teachers and meditation techniques that promise revolutionary results, treat these with caution. Always search with an open, patient and discerning heart, knowing that your sincerity shall guarantee you that you shall ultimately find the path and teacher meant for you.

The timeless challenge is to apply yourself to these teachings honestly, openly and wholeheartedly with enthusiasm, patience and sincerity. You are travelling along a pathway, a pathway travelled by millions of other seekers searching for fulfilment. This journey requires your determination and perseverance. The transforming nature of outer transcendence and inner illumination through meditation, contemplation, service and spiritual practice shall naturally unfold within, be patient and apply yourself diligently.

One of the greatest blessings is to have the compassionate and patient guidance of a genuine meditation Master, one who sees you for what you shall ultimately become, a self-realised soul. Their unconditional and loving guidance powerfully cuts through the uncertainties and negativities posed by the limited realities of the physical mind, helping the seeker to clearly follow the directions being given by them through your aspiring heart. The relationship between the spiritual teacher and the student is sacred in its timelessness and divine in its potential, it has been devotedly sought by genuine seekers throughout the ages, all of whom have travelled life's road accompanied by their teacher's wisdom-guidance.

Sri Chinmoy the meditation teacher says, (1) "If we find someone who can help us on our journey towards illumination, we take his or her help, and then we may then call that teacher, Guru. For everything we need a teacher; with the help of a teacher we can learn faster, and learn correctly. In the spiritual life also, a teacher is necessary. The spiritual teacher expedites our journey, increasing our thirst for truth, light and happiness. When we have a teacher, a spiritual Master we can make the fastest progress because they offer us their own inner strength, their awareness, protection, love, concern and compassion... There is no seeker on earth who will remain without a teacher if he or she is genuinely seeking. If their aspiration is intense, if their inner cry is mounting, then God shall answer their cry, for it is God who will bring a spiritual Master to the sincere seeker".
